Hi Lauren!
Welcome to planDisney! The
holidays are one of the most magical times of the year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. With glorious tall Christmas trees, gingerbread displays, seasonal music, lights, and festive treats, there is so much to see, do, and taste!
A Deluxe Villa makes the perfect home away from home, and everyone is happier and more comfortable with the extra space and amenities.
Because Disney’s Deluxe Villas are part of
Disney Vacation Club, they have to follow Florida laws on vacation ownership programs. When the Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, Disney Deluxe Villas were the first rooms reopened, and they were fully reopened to allow Members access to use their Disney Vacation Club Membership. While some non-villa resorts and accommodations have not fully reopened yet, this is not the case for the villas. Because of this, I doubt that you will see an increase in available inventory.
The holidays generally book early and tend to be booked solid by the late spring or summer. The majority of Deluxe Villa Accommodations are booked by Disney Vacation Club Members. If you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, I would book soon. As a Member myself, I just looked at availability for you over the Christmas holiday and I do see rooms available at both
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and
Disney’s Old Key West Resort. There is also scattered availability at some of the other resorts.
If you are not a Disney Vacation Club Member and would like to book a cash villa through Disney, there are some limited options still available, though they are mostly Deluxe Studios and 1 Bedroom Villas. If you are unable to find a villa for your dates, there are also Family Suites that sleep 6 and have a kitchenette available at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and some suites are also available at resorts including
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and
Disney’s Beach Club Resort. You may also want to check out
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground if you are wanting the full kitchen.
People can and do cancel, Lauren. So you may want to book something now, even if it isn’t your first choice, and then continue to check back for a cancelation. In my experience, Disney luck does tend to favor those who stalk reservations.
Sending you pixie dust for the perfect holiday accommodations!
