Aloha Amy!
Welcome to planDisney! We are a group of Disney Guests, just like you, who are Disney vacation fanatics and experts, here to share our expertise, tips, and tricks for planning that perfect Disney Vacation!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are some of the most popular rooms for Guests of the Walt Disney World Resort. You’ll be just steps, a boat, or a Monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom, while surrounded by lush tropical gardens, and the relaxing sights and sounds of the Polynesian Islands. This resort also has some amazing dining options. Start your day with my favorite breakfast in the world at the Kona Cafe (get the macadamia nut pancakes and press pot of Kona coffee, trust me) enjoy a DOLE Whip from the Pineapple Lanai in the afternoon, and enjoy all the noodles and potstickers you can eat for dinner at ‘Ohana!
There are actually two resorts within this resort, and so if you are wanting a suite or a villa, you’ll want to check availability at both locations. At
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you’ll find standard rooms as well as a 1 Bedroom Suite and even a few VIP type suites. There is a definite difference between a suite and a villa, and the room layouts are correspondingly different. A suite is designed to be a more spacious and luxurious hotel room and will have 2 Queen Beds, and 1 Day bed. A Villa is designed to be part of the Disney Vacation Club, and so it is more like a vacation home. At other resorts a 1 Bedroom Villa has a master bedroom with a king bed, then a pull-out or pull-down bed in the living room. Some resorts, such as Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village offer the 5th sleeper as well. These 1 Bedroom Villas have a full kitchen as well as a washer and dryer in the room. A Suite would not have a full kitchen or a washer and dryer. Unfortunately,
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows does not offer 1 Bedroom Villas. You can book Deluxe Studios which sleep 5, or an over-water bungalow that sleeps up to 8.
Using the room rate page for both of these “resorts within a resort” I checked availability for you for June 24 to June 28, 2022. I only see standard resort rooms available during that timeframe. It appears the suites are fully booked. Looking at the villas, I do see Deluxe Studios available, but no bungalows. A Deluxe Studio would have 1 queen bed, 1 queen-size sleeper sofa, and 1 pull-down bunk for a room that sleeps up to 5. You’ll also find a split bathroom for ease of getting ready each day, and a kitchenette.
Travel has become very popular again, and many resorts are booking way in advance. If those dates are set in stone, and Disney’s Polynesian is where you want to stay, I do love the convenience of a kitchenette, and so I recommend the Deluxe Studio. If you were wanting the added space and amenities of a 1 Bedroom Villa, you might want to consider other resorts. I do see availability at some of my favorites such as
Disney’s Riviera Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. If being close to the Magic Kingdom was on your priority list, I also see availability at
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
I hope this is helpful information for your planning, Amy. Wishing you a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
