Are inflatable pool floats allowed at Art of Animation? If so, is there a size restriction.

Hi, Kurt! Thanks for bringing another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Personal flotation devices are allowed at Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (including the ones at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort), but they should be “reasonably-sized” and must not block the lifeguard’s view of Guests in the pool. Should you have a question about whether or not your float would be allowed, simply ask the lifeguard on duty and they’ll let you know.

Although the Big Blue Pool is the largest pool at Walt Disney World Resort, there will typically be a large number of Guests who want to enjoy it. For the comfort, enjoyment and safety of other Guests, I typically like to use something like a foam or inflatable pool noodle instead of a large float. Put one noodle under your arms to float with your shoulders above water, or use two noodles for a makeshift float chair!

I’m not sure when your Art of Animation reservation is, Kurt, but please be advised that the Big Blue Pool will close for refurbishment beginning in fall 2020. During that time, the Cozy Cone Pool and Flippin’ Fins Pool will remain open (along with the Schoolyard Sprayground).

I hope you have a “fintastic” time in Disney's Art of Animation Resort’s Big Blue World, Kurt! Please let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you as you continue planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
