Hi there, Katrina! Thanks so much for coming to us here at planDisney with your dining question.
Often when I travel to Walt Disney World, I am meeting up with friends who I might not be linked to on my
MyDisneyExperience. This means that when one of us makes a dining reservation, it only shows on their MyDisneyExperience.
This isn’t an issue, if you can remember what reservations have been made. To solve this, you can send your friends requests to link your MyDisneyExperiences together. This is easily done on the website. Click on “Family & Friends” and then “
Add a Guest”. You will need to have your friends’ e-mails so that you can click “I’ll enter their name & age” and then when you select that their age is over 18, it will give you the option to “invite this guest to connect”.
It helps for everyone to be linked. If you are vigilant while you are visiting Walt Disney World, you can check the MyDisneyExperience app often for dining reservations that might be better than what you have. For example, over last weekend, my friend and I had a dinner reservation for Yachtsman Steakhouse. While we would have been happy with that, I was able to find a reservation for
Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera for dinner that evening. Since we had never been to this newer restaurant at Disney’s Riviera Resort, we opted to change to Topolino’s.
When making your dining reservations 60 days before your arrival, take a look at some of my favorite resort restaurants. We had breakfast at
Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and it was both delicious and affordable. Dinner at Olivia’s Café is another of my favorites. This hidden gem is at Old Key West Resort.
I hope you have a wonderful January visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Happy Traveling (& eating),
Tracy
