Welcome to planDisney, Johnny! Visiting the Disneyland Resort is magical but when you add in a stay at one of the
Disneyland Resort hotels? Well, that’s just the enchanted cherry on top. I am happy to help you prepare for your upcoming visit.
Disneyland Resort hotels currently place a $250 hold (subject to change) when Guests check in. This is a one-time authorization, not a per-night fee. The incidental hold is placed on the card you provide when you check in and is used to cover any in-room charges or purchases you might make during your stay.
Once you check out, any unused portion of the incidental hold is released. If you use a credit card, you’ll usually see this as a pending authorization that drops off after a few business days, depending on your card. If you use a debit card, the funds are withdrawn from your account and then returned after checkout, which can take a little longer depending on your bank. Because of that difference, many guests prefer using a credit card for a bit more flexibility.
One more tip when staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel: be sure to take some time to explore the grounds! The hotels themselves have many touches and nods that make you feel like you are still surrounded by the magic of Disneyland. For example, the
Pixar Place Hotel has concept art and character sketches of your favorite Pixar Pals throughout the hotel. At the
Disneyland Hotel, you can find many pieces of Disneyland history in the towers, including a car from Autopia!
Johnny, I hope you have a fantastic visit. If any other questions pop up as your trip gets closer, we at planDisney are always happy to help you map things out.
I hope you have a stay filled with unforgettable Disneyland adventures!
