Welcome to planDisney, Sharon! It's so lovely to meet a fellow resident of the Bluegrass State. I won't ask which college basketball team you cheer for because we're here to discuss
Walt Disney World Resort. But Go Cats! Let's look at some possible times for your visit so you can start planning your magical vacation.
Solo trips are fantastic! I love visiting with my family and friends, too, but there's something freeing about choosing my own path. I spent some time alone in
EPCOT earlier this month and got to
meet Figment! My husband doesn't always want to wait in line to meet characters, so I took advantage of being on my own to hug the big purple dragon of my dreams. I also browsed the shops around World Showcase and found a shady bench to relax on. And if I had two servings of
Maple Popcorn from the Canada Pavilion, no one needs to know (wink-wink).
Since everyone wants to experience that Disney pixie dust, the theme parks are always bustling. It's hard to pinpoint a time of year that would be less crowded, but I've found that May and September are fabulous months to visit. The weather is mild, and many schools are in session, so those are some of my favorite times to head to the parks. You can also search "Walt Disney World crowd calendar" online to find third-party projections based on past park attendance.
I also recommend you give
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations a call. The friendly Cast Members can experiment with different dates and resorts for you. They have helpful suggestions and often find the best deals. I want to add that resort pricing doesn't always reflect how busy it will be, so keep that in mind. And once you book a resort stay, if a
Special Offer drops, you can call in to apply the new rate to the reservation. You can't lose!
Sharon, please feel free to
stop by planDisney anytime. Once you settle on your dates, I'd love to talk about dining and other activities to make your visit memorable. We can also have a hot brown and discuss our Derby picks!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
