Hi, I'm going to "the world" in Dec. '09 and we're staying @POR, I've heard I can buy those famous "new orleans" donuts @POFQ, is it so? We (DH, 2DD (11,8) & DS 9 can't wait for Dec. '09. Thanks Brigitte ATL, GA

    Hi Brigitte,

I think you're talking about Beignets and yes you can definitely buy them at Port Orleans French Quarter. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside in August and one day we made a special trip to POFQ just to buy some. They really are delicious puffy type doughnuts all covered in icing (powdered) sugar. It's fun watching them being cooked and we made a huge mess trying to eat them but that's part of the fun. I think you have the option of either 3 or 6 Beignets and if you happen to be on the Disney Dining Plan you'll be pleased to know that a serving of 6 Beignets counts as 1 snack credit.

You can either walk from POR to POFQ or catch the boat.

    Have a fantastic trip,

    Jo
