I'm wondering what time the rooms will be available when we embark. I have read that it's a good idea to bring swimsuits, etc. in carry-on bags, but will we be able to put them in our room before luggage gets delivered, or will we have to lug them around?

    Hey Bonnie!

You have an excellent question, and I hope my answer will help your transition from land to sea as easy as possible!  On the morning of your embarkation day, I would pack a small to medium sized, over the shoulder carry-on to have with you until your stateroom is ready.  Include your swimsuits, sunscreen, goggles and anything else you might need during the afternoon.  This type of bag will be much easier to manage at the terminal, boarding the ship, and during your first delicious lunch on board!  So, when you arrive at the terminal, leave the rest of the luggage with the porters labeled with the Disney Cruise Line tags that will arrive in your cruise documents.

After boarding, grab some lunch, change into your suits, and hit the pool deck!  Whether you want to lounge by the pool or take a refreshing swim,  the pools are definitely less crowded during this time. Staterooms will be ready at 1:30 and luggage delivery will be ongoing throughout the afternoon.  My family usually heads to our room to change around  2:00-2:30 so we can have some time to explore the ship before the Muster Drill at 3:45.

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel!  Please let me know if you have any other questions before the big day!

    Have a magical voyage!
