Hi Meghan! I'm so excited to welcome you to planDisney! Can you believe that April is only a short hop, skip, and a jump away? That means you'll soon be at the
Most Magical Place on Earth, having the time of your life!
Let's dive into some pool talk, shall we? The Doubloon Lagoon pool at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter has been undergoing routine maintenance since January 2024, and it is expected to be completed by April 2024, but we don't have a specific date yet. I know it's not the news you were hoping for, but don't worry: Guests staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter can still enjoy a splashing good time at ALL FIVE pools at the Ol' Man Island pool complex over at neighbouring
Port Orleans - Riverside, PLUS the hot tub too! The two resorts are just a short half-mile scenic stroll away from each other, so you can be there in no time. How cool is that?
The
Ol' Man Island pool complex is perfect for for a fun-filled day, featuring a swimming hole featuring rushing waterfalls, a 95-foot waterslide designed like an old mill, a whirlpool spa, a kiddie pool, and even a fishing hole, there's something for everyone to enjoy. So, no matter which pool is open when you get there, I'm positive you'll have a fantastic time!
While you are there, you gotta check out the pool bar,
Muddy Rivers. Trust me, it's the perfect spot to relax and have fun. Try the Front Porch Freeze, made with Bayou Silver Rum, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice, and Mango Purée. It comes in a super cool Hurricane Glass you can take home as a souvenir. If you're not in the mood for alcohol, you can still enjoy the refreshing Lava Smoothie made with raspberry purée and blended with the amazing flavors of Coconut and Pineapple. Yum!
Meghan, I hope my suggestions will help you have a truly magical time full of sunshine and relaxation by the pool. And remember, if you have any more questions,
don't hesitate to drop by. I'm always here to help!
Cheers
Nilson
