Hi there, Cara!
Thanks for swimming on over to planDisney with your question! If you are anything like me, then your excitement level has reached new heights now that your countdown to The Most Magical Place on Earth can be measured in weeks instead of months.
I'm so glad that you are planning to stay at
Port Orleans - French Quarter! I consider it one of the best little gems at
Walt Disney World Resort. I love how compact the resort is, and the theming makes me feel as if I have been dropped into an intimate enclave in one of my favorite cities. I know it can be disappointing to have a pool closure occurring during your stay, and unfortunately, I just confirmed with a Cast Member that the hot tub is indeed included in the maintenance. He also shared that the entire
Doubloon Lagoon area will be inaccessible during this time. While I'm sure this is not what you were hoping to hear, I am happy to report that guests at Port Orleans - French Quarter have access to
all six of the pools at Port Orleans - Riverside as well as the resort's hot tub.
If an amazing hot tub would sprinkle a bit of extra pixie dust on your vacation, I wanted to share that
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, which also falls in the moderate price range, is home to the
largest hot tub at Walt Disney World Resort. If modifying your reservation is something you would like to consider, I did want to share that while the theming is just as incredible, Coronado Springs is a much larger resort than Port Orleans - French Quarter and might lack the intimate atmosphere I previously mentioned due to the sheer size.
Whether you choose to immerse yourself in the American Southwest or New Orleans, I can assure you that you won't regret
staying in the middle of the magic. My favorite benefits include early theme park entry and complimentary transportation.
I hope you have a wonderful vacation, Cara. Feel free to
drop back by with any additional questions that arise!
Cheers to 2024,
Lizzie
