I'm wondering if we come to one of the parks in the morning, and left for lunch, are we allowed to come back in on the same days pass? or would re-enterting the same park count as another day? We'd like to be able to go back to our hotel for lunch?

Hey Kaylene and thanks for the great question.  If you have a base one day magic your way ticket you may return to the same park in one day.  All you have to do is have your hand stamped before you exit the main gate.  The exit lanes to have this done are very clearly marked.  So get your arm stamped, head back to your resort for lunch, and then you may re-enter the same park later that afternoon.
If you have the hopper pass option you can go to any park you want to that afternoon, but without it, you may only re-enter the park you went to earlier in the day.  I hope this helps and that you have a magical vacation at WDW.
