Hello, I'm wondering if I can use Magic Bands for multiple people lightning lanes? For example, if I sign myself and my cousin up for a lightning lane at a ride, can I use my Magic Band for both our scans?

Welcome to planDisney, Isabel! With a Lightning Lane Multi Pass in your toolkit, you’re well on your way to an amazing day at the Disneyland Resort. I’m happy to help you sort through this last bit of tech magic before you visit (because nothing should get between you and a smooth park day).

When you purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, it becomes connected to your specific theme park ticket or Magic Key pass. Each MagicBand+ is also paired to an individual ticket or Magic Key. This means one MagicBand+ cannot be used to scan in for multiple people at park entry or at Lightning Lane tap points. Each Guest needs their own linked MagicBand+.

The good news is that you can still manage everything from a single phone, which makes coordinating a group so much easier. You can handle your Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections, view both tickets, and oversee both linked MagicBands+ all from your Disneyland App.

Here’s how to get everything set up. First, open the Disneyland App and log in to your My Disney Account. Tap the menu icon (the three horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner, then select “My Tickets and Passes.” From here, tap the plus sign in the top corner to link a ticket. You can either type in the ticket number or use your camera to scan the barcode. Repeat the process for the second ticket so both are linked and ready.

Now it’s MagicBand+ time! Head back to the menu and scroll to the Account section, then select “MagicBand+.” Tap the blue plus sign to start linking your first band. The app will prompt you to assign it to a specific ticket. Once you’ve selected the correct ticket, the band becomes active. Repeat the same steps for the second MagicBand+, and you’ll be all set (and practically glowing already).

From that point forward, you’ll be able to manage both tickets and all the Lightning Lane selections right from your phone. I love using this feature for my own family because it lets me coordinate our Lightning Lanes while my daughters explore, snack, and soak up the fun. And there’s something extra delightful about watching everyone’s MagicBands light up during shows like Fantasmic! or World of Color Happiness!

I hope this helps you feel even more prepared for your upcoming adventure, Isabel. If you have more questions before your visit, please come back and see us at planDisney.

    Enjoy your visit,
    David
