I remember our first visit to
Walt Disney World. As frequent Disneyland Resort Guests, it felt like stepping into a whole new world! Let's pull the lever, Kronk, and get you ready for an unforgettable adventure.
First things first, let's set the tone for your vacation! I always recommend staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel. With little ones in tow,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas would be at the top of my list, especially if a Savanna View Room fits your plans. There is nothing quite like watching your kiddos wake up to spot giraffes, zebras, and other animals wandering outside their window. It's a memory that's straight out of the Circle of Life!
When it comes to rolling through the parks in style, be sure your
stroller meets Disney's size requirements, and keep in mind that wagon-style strollers are not permitted. As comfy as they may be for little Mouseketeers, I'd hate for you to arrive at the park entrance and be met with a bibbidi bobbidi bummer.
As for the length of your visit, I recommend allowing enough time to experience all four theme parks, with a few rest days sprinkled in between. Walt Disney World is a great big beautiful place, and it comes with plenty of walking, or strollering! Depending on the time of year, the Florida sunshine can be part of the adventure too. Resort days spent enjoying the pool, exploring the hotel, and taking things at a slower pace can be the perfect way to recharge before your next park day.
One of my best tips is to have a plan while leaving room for flexibility. Attractions can experience unexpected downtime, and Florida weather likes to add a little plot twist now and then. Having a backup plan can help keep everyone happy. During one particularly rainy thunderstorm, I found myself sheltering at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. Watching kids dance along while Sonny Eclipse performed his out-of-this-world tunes turned a rainy afternoon into one of my favorite Disney memories.
