Hello I'm wanting to plan a 2-3 day father son weekend and don't know what I'm doing. We are huge Star Wars fans and want to plan most of it around the Star Wars area and would like to have an inclusive stay any tips?

Hello there, Shaun! Welcome to planDisney. As a fellow Star Wars fan who has spent many cycles in Black Spire Outpost, I’m thrilled to help you plan your galactic adventure to Batuu and beyond.

As you may know, Galaxy’s Edge is an immersive land in Disneyland where the Star Wars universe comes to life. From encountering Kylo Ren and his Stormtrooper unit to watching DJ R-3X drop beats in Oga’s Cantina, there’s something for every traveler. You can even pilot the Millennium Falcon, though whether you make the Kessel Run in record time depends on your crew! But for me, the crown jewel of the land is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. This attraction doesn’t just tell a story. It drops you into the middle of the Resistance’s fight against the First Order. With groundbreaking technology and unexpected twists, it’s a mission every Star Wars fan should undertake. If it’s a must-do for you, securing a Lightning Lane Single Pass is the best way to reserve your spot.

For an extra layer of adventure, activate your MagicBand+ and take on the Batuu Bounty Hunters quest. Tracking down targets through Black Spire Outpost is an experience worthy of any aspiring Mandalorian. One of my favorite memories is spending a birthday leveling up my bounty hunter rank and completing the entire game. A Q-Tip from my experience: keep an eye out for hidden symbols that may hint at where bounties are hiding!

Now, if your travels take you to Disneyland between March 28 and May 11, prepare for something truly special: Seasons of the Force is returning! This limited-time celebration brings exclusive treats, themed merchandise, and thrilling entertainment to the park. A brand-new nighttime spectacular, Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, debuts March 28, illuminating Batuu with legendary moments from the Skywalker saga, all set to John Williams’ iconic score. But that’s not the only reason to be on high alert in the Outer Rim. Luke Skywalker himself will be making his first appearance in Galaxy’s Edge.

Over in Tomorrowland, the return of Hyperspace Mountain will send guests hurtling through an intense X-wing battle over Jakku, and Star Tours will continue its unpredictable jumps across the galaxy, introducing new destinations and characters. No matter where you turn, the Force will be strong throughout Disneyland Park.

For the ultimate Star Wars experience, I highly recommend Star Wars Nite, an after-hours event that unites fans from across the galaxy. Each night includes exclusive entertainment, like joining Rey in a show of unity to ignite your lightsabers, and a costume cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. Out-of-this-world character encounters are also a highlight. Last year, guests could pose with Han Solo frozen in carbonite, greet C-3P0 and Hera Syndulla in Galaxy’s Edge, or even meet Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and R2-D2 together. And if you seek royalty, you might spot Queen Amidala, accompanied by a certain Jedi who has strong opinions about sand. Star Wars Nite tickets are currently available for select nights in April and May, so if this sounds like your kind of mission, be sure to grab yours before they jump to lightspeed.

As you can see, Shaun, there are a galaxy’s worth of ways to embrace the Star Wars universe at Disneyland. If you have any additional questions or need more Star Wars tips, reach out to me or any of the planDisney panelists. We’re always happy to help fellow travelers navigate the stars.

May the Force be with you!
