Hey there David,
Glad to meet ya! Welcome back to planDisney, and thanks for visiting us with your transportation and parking question. I'll bet your early planning and fun research are helping to build some pixie-dusted anticipation for your magical trip next summer! Well done, you. Having a Disney World countdown is just about the best thing ever. You're going to have a Tiggerific time!
When you just don't want the fun to end, it's awesome to have the option of park hopping to another with a later closing time. Or park bouncing... as Tigger and the cool kids call it. Riding the Disney monorail between EPCOT and Magic Kingdom is as enjoyable as it is efficient, and I like your strategy. One thing to consider with timing, is that the EPCOT monorail between these two parks will continue to run until around 2 hours after EPCOT closes. So if EPCOT will be closing at 9:00 PM that day, you could probably make this work if you plan to be bouncing onto the monorail at-or-slightly-before 11:00 PM.
An alternative option that would buy you a little more time would be to park at the
Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). That way you can ride the monorail to EPCOT in the morning, and be able to ride the Express Monorail from Magic Kingdom back to the TTC and your vehicle at the end of your night. The Express Monorail will continue to run until 1 hour after Magic Kingdom closing time. This may provide you with some additional bouncing time! Like the option to hop in line for
TRON Lightcycle / Run right at 10:59 PM (Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!), or just enjoy one last leisurely bounce down the beautifully lit Main Street USA without having to rush.
As your vacation dates get closer, keep an eye on the
Parks Operating Calendar where you'll find the park open and close times for more precise planning.
David, I hope this helps you get an optimal strategy in place, so you can maximize your time at both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. We love to help guests just like ourselves, so please feel free to bring any of your questions to us again at planDisney.
TTFN! Ta-ta for now!
