Hi! I'm visiting 10/30-11/01. I wanted to add an extra day to my stay but found all hotels within my budget are booked! I was looking to book a hotel in DTD for 10/29 but I was curious abt the transfer from DTD to the resorts.Do I use the shuttle or a taxi

    Hi Shannon,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! If you were planning on booking a reservation at a Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotel, you might consider making a reservation that can be cancelled. I recently had a similar issue-all the resorts in my budget were booked for the one night I wanted to stay in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. I have discovered that if you are persistent, you do have a chance of picking up a cancellation. I called twice a day and told them I was wondering if any rooms had opened up and managed to pick one up. It may be in a different resort, but a split stay can actually be a lot of fun because you get to explore two resorts instead of just one.

Should you not have any luck in booking another resort, the easiest way would probably be to take a taxi or use Uber for your transfer. This way, you won't have to deal with luggage while riding a bus or a shuttle. It will be a little more expensive but less complicated. You certainly can take a bus from Downtown Disney to your resort but just be prepared to do so with your bags.

Shannon, good luck and happy planning!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
