I'm visiting Disneyland California in January 2026,11-21st what attractions are likely to be closed when I will be there?

Hi Liam! Welcome to planDisney. I’m so glad you stopped by while planning your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort. January is a wonderful time to explore the parks, and I’d be happy to help you prepare for what to expect.

When it comes to refurbishment schedules, the best way to get accurate information is through the official Disneyland website. As Master Yoda wisely reminds us, “Always in motion the future is,” and that’s especially true for attraction schedules. To see the most up-to-date list, you’ll want to visit the Daily Events Schedule page and look for the “Closed for Refurbishment” section under “Schedules.” This page is updated regularly, so it will give you the clearest picture of what may be unavailable during your trip. Typically, the schedule is posted about six weeks in advance. Since your visit begins on January 11, 2026, I suggest checking back on Sunday, November 30, 2025, for the earliest update. Keep in mind, though, that refurbishment plans can change, so it’s always a good idea to check again closer to your travel dates.  Staying flexible and checking often will help you avoid surprises.

In addition to potential refurbishments, January also brings some exciting seasonal offerings. Although official dates haven’t been announced, the Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure has traditionally taken place in late winter, usually running from mid-January through early February. This event is full of festive entertainment, themed food, and cultural performances. I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest announcements as your trip approaches.

And here’s some more good news: the 70th Anniversary Celebration of Disneyland is expected to continue through summer 2026, so you’ll be right in the middle of the magic. While entertainment schedules may shift slightly to make room for seasonal events, the celebration itself won’t take a break during your visit.

Liam, if you’d like more planning tips or updates as your trip gets closer, please come back to see us at planDisney. We’d love to help you make your January visit as magical as possible.

    Wishing you a joyful adventure,
    David
