I'm going to visit the park for the first time on August 17th with my family, and I heard about something: a Halloween festival. Does the park close earlier on that day?

Hello, Luis Humberto! Welcome to planDisney. I’m so excited to hear that you’re coming to the Disneyland Resort for your first visit! What a momentous occasion! The Disneyland Resort is a very special place, and I hope you’re ready for a whole lot of magic and memories!

The Halloween festival you’re referring to is Oogie Boogie Bash. The first night scheduled this year is August 18th, the day after you visit, so no worries! On the nights that Oogie Boogie Bash takes place, California Adventure closes at 6:00 pm to guests without an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket. Disneyland’s hours should not be impacted, even on Oogie Boogie Bash nights. On July 6th, you’ll be able to view the details for the day at the parks by checking out the Hours & Events Calendar. Change the date to August 17th, and you’ll see all of the shows, parades, and nighttime spectaculars that are playing on the day you’re in the parks.

Also, be sure to ask a cast member at a retail register for a “First Visit” celebration pin. You can proudly sport this complimentary pin throughout your very special day. Your first visit also requires excellent pictures! Did you know that if you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, PhotoPass service is included?! You’ll get to speed through the lines and capture the magic wherever a PhotoPass cast member is taking photos!

Luis Humberto, I hope you have a wonderful trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. If you have more questions, I’ll be happy to answer them for you at planDisney!

I hope you have a magical day!
