Greetings, friend! Welcome to
planDisney! I’m so excited that your trip is just around the corner and that you’re going to experience one of the most special parts of the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. The
Key to Disneyland has been a sensation and a great way to visit every part of the park. You’re going to love this scavenger hunt!
Unfortunately, there is no way to reserve a magic key in advance. You’ll have to find one at the parks when you arrive. The good news is that I was at the parks just last week and saw some on the shelf in several locations around the park. The bad news is that the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration is ending on August 9th, and guests, such as yourself, may be looking to experience the Key to Disneyland before it’s over. Here’s the tip! If you can’t find one inside the park (which I believe you’ll be able to), check the
World of Disney store in the
Downtown Disney District. If they don’t have them (which I think they will), check the
Disney's Fantasia Shop in the
Disneyland Hotel! One of those locations is sure to have it.
The Key to Disneyland is really special! You’ll get to use the key to activate the nine stations in each land, before returning to the front of the park for the final station, which includes a little surprise. To complete the 70th Celebration experience, catch the
Celebrate Happy Cavalcade, which features Mickey and Friends in their 70th Celebration-themed attire, and
Tapestry of Happiness. This love letter to the park is projected on the façade of the beloved
“it’s a small world.” There are so many hidden gems in this show that will excite the true Disney fan, from retired rides to legendary creators. Don’t miss it!
Check out the excellent video I’ve linked to this response that features my planDisney pal and actual wife, Melissa H! She’ll show you how the Key to Disneyland works. I hope you have an excellent trip to the
Happiest Place on Earth. It’s my favorite place! Do me a favor. Leave the Disneyland Fire Station for the last stop of your scavenger hunt. When you get there, look up to the window on the second story. If the lamp is on, know that Walt is up there.
I really hope you feel the magic of the Disneyland Resort on your trip! If you have more questions, feel free to bring them to us at
planDisney.
I hope you have a magical day!
Corey
