Hi there Liz, welcome to planDisney! We're happy to help you with your great dining question!
I know the feeling Liz, you want to have a
dining reservation set and ready for your family, but if you're enjoying the Incredicoaster in
Disney California Adventure Park and need to get all the way over to Cafe Orleans in
Disneyland Park, it can feel like a long journey to get there!
You are not able to have overlapping dining reservations unless you enlist a family member or friend to make a separate dining reservation through their account. If you decide to make multiple dining reservations for your group around the same time, I would make sure you familiarize yourself with the
cancellation policy. Each restaurant at the Disneyland Resort charges a per person cancellation fee for reservations cancelled after the designated period, or for no shows, so you'll want to make sure you cancel the reservation you aren't going to use before that time to avoid the fees.
There are many park days where we do not even make a dining reservation! To your very point, we never know what part of the parks we'll be enjoying at that time, and or which lands we'll be riding our favorite attractions in. There are so many wonderful
quick service locations throughout both parks and the Downtown Disney District, you could even just see how the day plays out and then use
mobile ordering in the
Disneyland app when you decide where to dine. Not having a dining reservation does give you the flexibility to enjoy the parks without being tied to a certain time or location!
I hope this information is helpful for your upcoming trip, Liz! I'm always willing to help a fellow Midwesterner out with any planning tips, so don't hesitate to
follow-up with me directly if I can be of help.
Have a magical day!
Melissa
