Hello Joy!
Welcome to planDisney! When we first started taking our children to the
Walt Disney World Resort, I carried around a spreadsheet for the week with all our dining reservations, hotel reservation numbers, and plans for the day! While I am certainly glad to be rid of the spreadsheet, and I love that everything is at my fingertips with
My Disney Experience, I too have the occasional technology struggle.
It sounds like you have done all the right things by contacting your hotel and customer service. I am going to assume that you have already double-checked that you are using the correct reservation number. I can’t promise I have the answer, but I have a few troubleshooting ideas that you can try. If you had just made the reservation and then tried to link it, sometimes there is a delay before you can link your reservation. You may need to wait 24 hours. Since you asked this question a few days ago, perhaps you have already retried this, and I am hoping it is working now!
Additionally, I find that using the desktop version of My Disney Experience can be a little easier for the setting up and planning phases of our vacation, and I mostly use the Mobile App while in the theme parks. Also, be sure you have updated the
My Disney Experience Mobile App to its most recent version, especially because there was an update just in this past week.
Make sure the name on the reservation is the same as the name on your My Disney Experience Account. For example, my reservation might be under Katherine, but my My Disney Experience Account is created as Kate. While this usually isn’t an issue when staying at a Disney Resort Collection Hotel, the Walt Disney World Swan is owned by a third-party company, so perhaps this is causing the glitch.
I also find that when I have been using many Disney webpages while answering questions here on planDisney, that sometimes I need to clear my cookies to get pages to open correctly. Try to clear your cookies and see if that helps. Another option is to open a new “private window” in your browser. To do this in your favorite browser, choose “File”, then “New Private Window.” That often helps me when webpages don’t seem to be working correctly.
If you have tried all of this. I would try to call again. You mentioned you called “Disney World Customer Service,” and I don’t know if that is the number for booking reservations or an alternate number, but I have always had wonderful assistance from the Cast Members at Tech Support. From this
Phone Directory Page, try the number for Website Support and My Disney Experience, and hopefully, someone at that line can assist you.
Sending you pixie dust you get your reservation linked!
