Hi Julie! How exciting to be planning your first visit to Walt Disney World! There is so much to see and do at Disney that planning a trip can feel a little overwhelming, but we are here to help you! You've already done one of the hardest tasks -- choosing a resort, and you picked a great one!
I recommend that you take a look at the calendars by clicking
here (click each park and then click "calendar") to determine the
operating hours of the parks during your visit, as well as the times of any
parades or shows you'd like to see and the schedule of Extra Magic Hours for resort guests. Use that information to decide which park(s) you'd like to visit each day.
Once you have a schedule, then you can focus on making some dining reservations. Decide where to eat by browsing the menus of the various restaurants either
on the
Disney website or at a site like
www.allears.net to find restaurants with food
that appeals to your family. Once you've found some restaurants with the type of
food your family enjoys, you can narrow down your choices by reading the reviews
of other diners at allears.net or on the "Restaurants" forum at a site like
www.disboards.com. Make at least one dining reservation for each day of your trip, and be sure to choose restaurants that will be convenient to the park you plan to visit that day or in your resort. (The Animal Kingdom Lodge has some fantastic restaurants!)
Hope this helps you get started with your planning! Please don't hesitate to ask us more questions here at the Moms Panel if you need more help! Hope you have a magical vacation!
