I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of going to WDW either the first full week of June or the second week of October. What are the crowds usually like in those months? What about the weather? Anything else I should be aware of?

    Hi Sharon! Welcome to planDisney!

You certainly have the perfect conundrum! I think that if you polled a population of Disney Guests, instead of picking one month, they'd say they'd be happy to visit the Walt Disney World Resort any time of year!  It's definitely a great idea to gather some information about what time of year to head to The Most Magical Place on Earth, but I think in either case you'll find that the "pros" always outweigh the "cons."  After all, the worst days at Disney are still better than the best days at home!

You're really in a good position, as both June and October are honestly incredible times to visit.  I think you'll find that your choice comes down to what you and your party are most interested in doing and how long you want to wait before you step into the magic!

Early June in Walt Disney World is full of flowers, fun and fantasy.  Crowds are still usually lower than later in the summer when all children are out of school. My family usually chooses this time to head to our favorite place because we love experiencing the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, which runs through July 4th this year! Another excellent reason to visit this time of year is that Walt Disney World has already released Special Offers for stays in Disney Resorts Collection hotels through July 7, 2022.  If you're looking to stay right in the middle of the magic and enjoy all the benefits that come with it, June is a great time to soak up summer fun and savings!

October in Walt Disney World is a favorite of SO many Guests!  While there are no dates set yet, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival usually runs through the fall, giving Guests a chance to sample cuisine and wine pairings from over 30 booths around the Park.  This year, Guests also had the opportunity to celebrate Halloween at Magic Kingdom Park with Mickey and Pals at Disney After Hours Boo Bash. Hopefully, this after-hours event will be available again this year!

When it comes to weather, there are some discrepancies between the months.  We're from Massachusetts and never shy away from sunshine-filled days and HOT weather so we enjoy the summer months in Florida.  You'll find that the average temperatures in June are slightly higher than October, though October is still bright and very warm.  June is very humid and you'll want to be prepared to be showered with a short downpour each day.  Usually, these pass very quickly, but I would encourage you to bring ponchos, an umbrella, and extra socks in case you get caught in one! For some reason, my family has the best memories of running through these passing thunderstorms.  We always seem to find the fun in dancing in the rain, and it brings a welcome cool-down on a hot day.

Whatever you and your party choose, I know that you'll be happy to just be in the magic of the Resort.
    Adventure is out there!
