Hi Stephanie!
Welcome to planDisney! I actually just used
Lightning Lane Premier Pass a couple of weeks ago, so I’m happy to help you out!
With Lightning Lane Premier Pass at
Magic Kingdom, you’ll have access to all of the available Lightning Lanes that are included in Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass at that park. You can access each Lightning Lane in the park one time during your park day when using Lightning Lane Premier Pass.
The Lightning Lanes for attractions are open during regular park hours. So, you won’t be able to access them during
Early Entry or if there’s a special ticketed evening event. But you will be able to access them throughout your normal park day.
With that being said, of course, attractions can go down at times throughout the day. So, I recommend peeking at your
My Disney Experience app here and there as you’re making your way around the park to make sure the ride you’re heading to is operating.
When I used Lightning Lane Premier Pass at Hollywood Studios, for example, I noticed that Rise of the Resistance was down in the morning, so I decided to start my day at the other side of the park. By the time I made my way around to Rise of the Resistance, it was back up and running!
On your park day, whenever you’re ready to enter a Lightning Lane, you’ll just scan in. Simple as that! The My Disney Experience app will keep track of which attractions you’ve visited and which ones you still have left.
As far as the service being worth it, that will be subjective! It’s definitely pricey, but I will say that it’s the most laid-back day at Disney World I’ve ever had. It was SO nice to be able to just wander around the park at my own pace without zig-zagging to make it to attractions for specific return times. I was also there during a busy time, and knowing that I was bypassing such long standby queues was the icing on the cake!
Remember, you’ll be able to purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass for your park day (pending availability) beginning at 7 AM Eastern, 7 days prior to your resort check-in date if you’re staying at a
Disney World resort or select good neighbor hotel. If you’ll be staying off property, your booking window will open at 7 AM Eastern, 3 days prior to the start date of your ticket for date-based tickets.
I hope that gives you an idea about what to expect! If you have any other questions, let us know. We’re always happy to help!
