I'm trying to plan a trip 3/1/10-3/7/10 with daughter, son-in-law, husband, and 4 yr. old grandson. I think we should stay at a resort/villa with 2 bedrooms in the complex. Any suggestions? Also, is it cheapest to get the "magic your way" pkg.

Hi, Carol!  I have traveled to Walt Disney World many times with extended family.  I've gone with my parents, my in-laws, and my siblings and their families - sometimes traveling with as many as 13 or 15 at a time.  For the sake of space, I definitely recommend the two bedroom accommodations at  the Disney Vacation Club resorts.  In addition to the full kitchen facilities and the washer and dryer - both of which are money savers, when you consider you can pack lighter and not pay extra baggage fees - you will have loads of space for everyone to store their things.  It's also nice in the evening to come back and have separate bedrooms to put the little guy down in while the adults can sit and unwind with a drink or a snack.

You could certainly do two rooms in the same resort, requesting adjoining rooms so you are close, but to me, that almost defeats the purpose of a big family vacation!  I love it when all my daughters are waking up to have breakfast with all of my nephews!  And the look on my little one's face the first time she woke up and saw Pop-Pop making breakfast in her hotel room was priceless!

As for the Magic Your Way package, it's not necessarily cheaper if you price out the room and theme park tickets individually, but you can't discount the things you get like the 30 minute arcade card, a round of miniature golf, a 5x7 photograph with your PhotoPass card, and other things along those lines.  This is also a stress free way to plan your vacation, as you don't need to worry over booking a room, purchasing tickets, making sure you get the passes you need, etc.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation!
