I'm trying to plan a quick weekend trip for myself and my 10 year old niece. We know someone who works for Disney & may end up getting complimentary tickets. My question is this: can the water parks fun & more option be added to complimentary ticke

Hi, Laura!  What an awesome friend!  That will save you a bunch of money to put towards a nice meal or some awesome souvenirs!

The general rule of thumb is that a complimentary ticket cannot be upgraded to include water parks, nor can they be upgraded to annual passes.  If you think about it, usually, when you upgrade a ticket to include other options, they apply the price you paid for the ticket towards your upgraded purchase, but since the complimentary tickets have no purchase value, there isn't anything to apply to the upgraded options.

You can, of course, always purchase single day tickets for the water parks or DisneyQuest.  If those are things you really want to do while you are at Walt Disney World, you can use the money you would have spent on theme park passes to spend on the bonus things!

I hope you both have a really wonderful vacation!
