Hi, i'm trying to plan my 2nd disney trip. How does it work if you purchase your airline tickets through a disney vacation package? Do you get to pick your seats for the flight? We are all 1st time flyers as well so a little lost on this topic.

    Hi Isabel,

Congrats on first time flying! I truly love flying which probably why I work for an airline.

If you book your airline tickets through Disney, ask for your airline confirmation number. This is a six digit "number" made up of numbers and/or letters. With this confirmation number, you will be able to check-in for your flight and print boarding passes prior to your departure. I recommend this to save time at the airport.

You can also use this confirmation number ahead of time to look at your seat assignments. Depending on the airline and the seats purchased, you should see your seats and the available seats open. You may be able to move to another seat but be aware of additional fees.

When booking your flights through Disney or on your own, always make sure to give the correct age of your children. You do not want to list them as adult because they could end up in an exit row which they can not sit if they are under 15 for most carriers. You would want to keep your family together as much as possible or at least with one adult.

I recommend you look at the price of airline tickets with a Disney package and without. I have seen big differences in both.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
