Hi Jennifer,
As everyone eats differently whist at Walt Disney World, and there are so many restaurants, I would advise you to have a look at the dining pages of
www.allears.net Here you can view all the menus for both the counter service and table service restaurants in WDW including the prices.
As a rough guide though the counter service Electric Umbrella in Epcot sells a cheeseburger and fries for about $6.60, dessert about $2 and a large soda for around $2.40. For about $5 you can get a childs meal which includes an entree, 2 sides and a drink.
Table service restaurant's are obviously more expensive and the Garden Grill, also in Epcot, which has characters present costs about $31 per adult and $15 per child aged 3 - 9. The food here is served family style which means the food gets placed in the centre of the table and you can ask for refills.
My family finds that the portion sizes are huge so, especially at counter service restaurants, we often share. We are a family of 4 and we find that 2 or 3 adult meals is plenty of food between us. People sometimes share at table service restaurants too and the servers are normally happy to bring you an extra plate. You can't share at buffets and family style restaurants though!
I hope that helps and be sure to book your reservations up to 180 days in advance either online at
www.disneyworld.com or by calling 407-939-3463.
Have a fantastic trip,
Jo
