Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Nadine!
Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is one of my family’s favorite dining and entertainment options at
Walt Disney World Resort. For two of the past three years, that’s where we’ve enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner, and both of those times the weather was wonderful. Since it gets dark pretty early at that time of year, we have opted for seating during the first show of the evening and then have taken the monorail from
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to
Magic Kingdom Park to round out our evening. Last year we were in light sweaters and jeans and were quite comfortable, but Florida weather can definitely be temperamental. The seating areas and bulk of the performance space are all under cover, so the show will continue even if it’s raining (as long as lightning is not in the area).
Chef Mickey’s would also be a wonderful choice if you’re looking for more of a classic “Disney meal” with Characters. If your children would be more interested in meeting Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald, then Chef Mickey’s might be the way to go. If they’d enjoy a family-style meal with amazing performances from dancers, singers and even a fire knife juggler, then you can’t go wrong with Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. These two options really are like comparing apples and oranges, so I would recommend taking a look at the menus and maybe basing your decision on which meal and which entertainment type would better suit your family’s tastes. If you can, though, I say do them both!
Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Nadine. We’re always happy to help!
