I'm trying to decide between 01/01-05 or 03/07/11-03/11/11. The cost is lower in Jan. with the free dining plan, but I'm worried about the crowds. I've always wanted to see the Christmas decorations. I'm torn, which time is better. Thanks for your help

Hi Deborah! Ring in the new year at Disney World! The holiday decorations will still be adorning the parks and resorts, you'll save money, and after January 1st, the crowds will likely be lower than they are in March.  Of course, park attendance will be at maximum levels on New Years Day, but most people return to work and school after January 1st and crowds drop to low levels. In March, schools begin having spring breaks, and park attendance rises to moderate levels. The unofficial website TouringPlans.com has a Crowd Calendar that predicts attendance levels at the Disney parks. The site ranks crowds from 1 to 10, with 10 being the most crowded. During your contemplated visit in January, several days are ranked a 2, whereas in March, your dates rank 6 or 7. Since you can still see the holiday decorations in January and you have a free dining offer for that time, it sounds like January would be your best choice!

Hope this helps! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
