Welcome to planDisney, Rhiannon!
I love this question! It brought a big smile to my face because I just purchased the
Southern California Resident Ticket Offer for my husband’s birthday last week, and I had the same question myself. So your question came along at the perfect time for me to share what I know!
As you know, SoCal residents can now enjoy special savings on weekday theme park tickets. I look forward to enjoying this opportunity during
Black Heritage Month, as well as experiencing the brand
new Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction as a family, and also for the opening of the reimagined
Mickey’s Toontown, and of course, for
the Disney100 celebration!
But Rhiannon, just like you, it was hard for me to predict which three dates between now and May 25, 2023, to reserve for my family to visit The Happiest Place On Earth together. When you purchase your theme park tickets by choosing a Southern California Resident bundle, you will need to
make a reservation at that time. The good news is, after that, you have until the clock strikes midnight the evening before your visit to cancel your theme park reservations. If you cancel your reservation on the day you were scheduled to visit, or if you never scan your ticket that day, you will not be able to make a new reservation until the following day. However, if you stay one jump ahead of your reservation, you'll be able to make a whole new reservation up to 120 days in advance (but remember, Rhiannon: all of your visits must take place on or before May 25th since you are using these special SoCal resident tickets!).
What I ended up doing is reserving our 1st visit for a day that my hunny and I had already decided to visit and focus our time celebrating his birthday at
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Park. I scheduled another day for March after the
Mickey’s Toownton reopening that we haven't finalized together. I also reserved a day in May because...ya know…
May the 4th be with you, am I right?! Anyway, as those dates approach, I plan to either cancel each reservation the night before or arrange our work and social schedules around them. No matter what, I know our family will be visiting together three times before summer, and I’m so pleased to read that yours will too!
I’m so glad you brought your question about how to make the Southern California Resident Ticket work for you and your Mouseketeers, Rhiannon. I look forward to hearing more about your plans, so if you have any further questions, please
feel free to come back to visit me here now that you’ve got a friend in me!
See ya real soon,
Danielle
