Hi Sabrina! Welcome to planDisney. Wrapping up a Disney day with a nighttime spectacular really is the perfect finale. There’s something extra magical about the way the lights reflect across Paradise Bay while music and fountains dance in sync. Add a tray of desserts, a sparkling beverage, and the comfort of a seat, and suddenly you have the makings of an evening that feels both indulgent and unforgettable.
I checked the reservation availability for the
World of Color Dessert Party, and while October 22nd is currently unavailable, there is still seating open on October 20th for the 9:00 p.m. showing of
World of Color Happiness! My advice is to grab that reservation quickly if your schedule allows. Dessert Party spots often disappear fast, and securing one early can save you a lot of stress later. If your heart is set on October 22nd, I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disneyland website as your visit gets closer. Cancellations do pop up, and sometimes extra seating is released.
Here’s a helpful tip for the day of your reservation: arrive at the check-in area about 20 minutes before your seating time. The Dessert Party check-in is located near the Eureka water wheel, close to Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Showing up a little early gives you a better chance at snagging one of the front-row tables where your view of the fountains is especially dazzling. Once seated, you can settle in with your tray of sweet and savory bites, raise your glass, and watch the lagoon transform into a living canvas of color and light.
If you’re hoping to catch the show without a Dessert Party reservation, you’ll still have options. World of Color Happiness! uses a complimentary virtual queue system. Starting at noon on show days, you can use the
Disneyland mobile app to request a spot in one of two reserved standing viewing areas. These spaces offer wonderful sightlines of the show, and while they don’t come with desserts, they still deliver plenty of Disney magic.
Sabrina, I hope this gives you the confidence to plan an evening filled with sparkle and sweetness. The nighttime hours at the Disneyland Resort always bring something unforgettable, and World of Color is one of those memories that will stay with you long after the fountains fade.
Wishing you a night sprinkled with pixie dust,
David
