Hi Erin – thank you for visiting planDisney!
I just returned home from a Disneyland Resort vacation with my family, and they experienced the same hiccup as you. I learned from our experience that there are two different scannable codes. The first code is for your
theme park ticket and usually comes as a barcode. The barcode for your ticket should have been emailed to you after you purchased your tickets or within five days of your trip if you have a Disneyland Vacation Package. The second code is your reservation for the specific date you wish to visit and comes in the form of a QR code.
If you can locate your ticket barcode, that should be the one that can be scanned and linked to your
Disneyland Mobile App. If you cannot find your theme park ticket barcode, no worries. You can scan your reservation QR code at the entrance gate to get into either
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park. The Cast Member helping you can print out physical tickets for you. Afterward, you can proceed with linking your tickets to the app by scanning the barcode on the physical ticket. This is the option my family did after losing their ticket barcode.
While at Disneyland Resort, I hope you have a chance to watch a show. I just saw the
Main Street Electrical Parade this week, and it was gorgeous – I especially loved the Pete the Dragon float. It is such a fun parade! If you do catch this parade, I like finding a space by
“it’s a small world”, mainly because there are tons of nearby Cast Members selling all kinds of snacks like popcorn, churros, and cotton candy – all great snacks for waiting for the show to start.
Have a magical time at the
Happiest Place on Earth!
Best wishes,
Lola
