hi im travelling from the uk in april 09 and im so losted when it comes to tipping as we don't tip here, i know to tip mousekeeping and bell services but what about the walk up food counters? do you also tip when eatting from here. thanks for all your help

There is no need to tip at counter service (also called quick service) restaurants -- the kind where you walk up and place your order while standing, receive your food on a tray, and then carry it yourself back to your table.

However, you do need to tip at table service restaurants -- these are the ones where you are greeted by a host or hostess, have your order taken by a server, and then have your food brought to you by the server. You also need to tip at buffet-style table service restaurants -- even though you are getting your own meal from the buffet line, the server will be working to keep your drinks filled and plates cleared. A standard tip at a table service meal in the US is 15-20% depending on the level of service. Disney will automatically add an 18% tip to parties of 6 or more people. Be sure to look at your bill to make sure you're not tipping twice.
