Hi Sarah,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! There is a lot for a 1-year-old to experience at the Walt Disney World Resort, including some of the attractions. My wife and I have taken all three of our children to Walt Disney World as infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. In fact, our daughter first visited when she was only 5-months-old, and we took her on several of the slow rides.
My favorite park to visit with toddlers is the Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom Park is home to classic Disney attractions like "it's a small world" and Dumbo The Flying Elephant. There is so much to see and do in the six lands of the Magic Kingdom that everyone in your party will be able to have fun. During our family's most recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we spent most of our time in Fantasyland and the recently expanded
New Fantasyland. Storybook Circus is home to Dumbo The Flying Elephant and Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station, which is a great place to cool off on a warm day. My boys loved this area's colorful big-top tents and classic American circus feel.
Each of the four parks of the Walt Disney World Resort offers slow rides for Guests of all ages to enjoy. If you plan to visit Epcot, Journey Into Imagination With Figment and
The Seas with Nemo & Friends are great attractions to visit. My children love spending time at The Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion. The 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium is a favorite of our entire family, and the marine biology activities around the pavilion are fun for little ones.
Please send me any follow-up questions that you may have about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World. I enjoy helping families plan their magical vacations with little ones.
Have a magical day,
Bob
