Olá Flavia!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I have an almost 14-year-old daughter, and lately, she likes nothing better than adventuring on her own, so I can understand your daughter’s desire for her
own adventure at Walt Disney World, and there are so many exciting adventures to be had!
Depending on the Resort you choose, your daughter will have a fabulous time at the Community Hall where fun activities are for kids only! On Friday nights, the Community Hall at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa transforms into Jockey’s Hideout - a “nightclub” for teens and tweens with virtual reality gaming, music, and snacks. Most of the other Resorts offer similar activities.
For my family, 12 is a bit too young to head into the Parks on your own, but we do let our teens/tweens explore on their own once we are all inside. Pandora - The World of Avatar is the perfect place for her to have some autonomy while you are relatively close. We have teens and littles, so while the big kids ride Flight of Passage, we head to Na'vi River Journey with the kiddos and then all meet up for a delicious meal at
Satu'li Canteen.
Our teenagers also love
Disney Springs! We usually go as a family, and then give them some leeway to shop and explore while we enjoy a leisurely meal and time at the Lego Store with the littles!
Flavia, I hope this gets your planning started. While Walt Disney World Resort is incredibly safe, please make sure that you and your daughter have frequent check-ins and a plan where both of you feel secure.
Enjoy! Rayna
