I'm traveling to WDW for my family's first ever visit. I was looking at the menu for Satu'li in Pandora, and I'm wondering what the Boba Balls are that come in all the bowls? We have shellfish, peanut and tree nut allergies.

Hello, Aviva, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Satu'li Canteen in Pandora - The World of Avatar is one of my absolute favorite restaurants at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and it's one of my favorite Quick Service restaurants in all of Walt Disney World Resort. When the restaurant first opened, the Boba Balls were yogurt-based. However, when I ate there just a few months ago they were juice-based.

In looking at the allergy-friendly menu for Satu'li Canteen, though, I notice that the Boba Balls are not listed under the Fish/ Shellfish Allergy-Friendly section or the Peanut/ Tree Nut Allergy-Friendly section. You will probably want to speak with a chef or special diets trained Cast Member or contact them by emailing Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com at least 14 days prior to your arrival. While I would recommend placing an allergy-based order in person, you can use the Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering available in your My Disney Experience Mobile App, too. For most Satu'li Canteen dishes, you can customize your selection in the App by choosing your Base and Sauce and can then indicate whether or not you'd like to include the Boba Balls.

Since suppliers and options are subject to change, I would recommend speaking with a chef when you arrive to get the most up-to-date and accurate information at the time of your visit. Please keep in mind that while chefs do take steps to prevent cross-contamination, there are not separate allergy-friendly kitchens. In my personal experience, though, I have always found Walt Disney World chefs to be fastidious with their commitment to ensuring Guests' dietary needs are met.

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Aviva!
