Welcome to planDisney, Maricel! Thoughts of heading to
Walt Disney World Resort with my parents make me smile, but, like you, I am not sure they would find it the Most Magical Place on Earth if they had to figure out how to download and use the
My Disney Experience app.
Here's the good news: You can manage everything for everyone on your app. They can easily be the Passenger Princess and Prince for the day, riding along without worrying about a thing.
Do they have
MyDisney accounts? If they do, make sure you are connected as
Family & Friends. If not, you may want to set them up with new accounts that you manage. If they have their own accounts, they can see all the plans on their phones. If they don't have accounts and seeing everything on their phones is not a priority, setting up accounts you manage is easy and would not require them to log in and accept an invitation to connect.
Once you have their MyDisney accounts in your profile, you can assign the tickets to them. To do this, go to "
My Plans" and scroll to "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets." Under the "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" tab, you can see all the tickets assigned to you and people in your Family & Friends list. If you need to assign tickets to them, you should be able to find their profiles under the "Reassign Ticket" option.
When it's time to book your
Lightning Lane passes, go to the My Disney Experience app's home screen and select "Purchase" from the Lightning Lane tile. First, select the date and theme park for a Lightning Lane Multi Pass or attraction for a Lightning Lane Single Pass. Follow the prompts to select your family members, confirm the selections and arrival windows and complete the purchase.
The easiest option for your parents to access their tickets for admission into the theme parks and the Lightning Lane entries may be a Key to the World card. If these plastic cards are not mailed to you before your trip, you can pick them up at
Guest Relations near the gate to the theme parks. A Cast Member will ask for photo identification, the credit card used to purchase the tickets or other proof that you are the person to whom they belong. If your parents have a MagicBand or
MagicBand+, they can also use these to navigate the parks and lines easily.
Maricel, I hope this information is helpful and that you and your family have a trip sprinkled with Pixie Dust! If you have any other questions, please come see us again at
