Heather,
Hello from a fellow Hoosier! Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Planning an escape to the
Walt Disney World Resort during the middle of an Indiana winter sounds fantastic!
While weather in January can of course vary, you're likely to experience much more mild temperatures than we'll have here in Indiana. I recommend checking the forecast before you go, but generally speaking, I'd plan on daytime temperatures feeling like jeans and t-shirt type weather with the mornings and evenings requiring sweatshirts and/or jackets. My number one packing tip is to pack layers. If you're wearing your little guy, you may want to bring some layers for him as well as a hat and a blanket in case he gets chilly.
If there is rain in the forecast, one tip I have is to bring a stroller rain cover or even just an extra poncho to keep your stroller dry. Our double stroller once got caught in a thunderstorm while we were indoors enjoying dinner and my husband ended up carrying two of our children while I pushed an empty and sopping wet stroller. We learned our lesson and were much more prepared after that!
Did you know there are
Baby Care Centers in all four theme parks in case you need a place to change, nurse, or feed your son? They also have some common baby items for sale in case you forget something.
Have a magical vacation with your son, Heather, and feel free to bring some Florida sunshine back to Indiana with you when you return!
Missy
