I'm traveling to Disney in Nov. I was wondering about the Magic Hour procedures. We used to go and receive bracelets to gain access to the rides after hours. I was told that as of 2 weeks ago you now have to show your key for each ride. Is this true?

Yes, in an effort to cut down on plastic left in landfills, Disney has discontinued issuing wristbands for evening Extra Magic Hours. Each guest will be required to show his or her Key to the World card (room key) at the entrance to every attraction in order to gain access to that attraction. In this situation it probably makes sense to have your room key in a plastic pouch on a lanyard around your neck. That way you won't be constantly digging your key out of your pocket or bag.

Plastic card pouches are available at most locations where Disney trading pins are sold. I purchased one myself at WDW this past weekend for about $5 for the pouch and another $5 for the lanyard, but you could find these less expensively at an office supply store such as Staples. (Look for something like a convention ID holder.)
