Hi there, Hannah. As a former travel agent, I definitely have some advice for you.
First of all, I recommend that your Disney College of Knowledge has been completed. This should be the first training that you do once you are hired by a travel agency. The information provided there is invaluable. Then, I might suggest you reach out to your travel agency owner with your questions. Coming into a public forum is something that we encouraged our agents never to do. You don’t want to discredit yourself.
As far as your question, once you are in the DTA and have the package with resort and tickets booked, there is a spot at the bottom to make the $200 deposit. This can be paid with a credit card, Disney Rewards Redemption card, or
Disney Gift Card. Then, the client’s final payment is due 30 days before they travel.
I recommend you go into the Disney Travel Agent website and “play” around. Get yourself familiar with booking all the different types of Disney vacations, so that you are ready when a client contacts you to book their trip of a lifetime. You have a super important job. You are the “magic coordinator” of their vacation. You need to be an expert on these things.
There has been a LOT of new information about Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line over the past week. Be sure to keep up with the articles in DTA and take a peek at the
Disney Parks Blog for even more fun information.
Happy Planning,
Tracy
