I'm thinking about going to Typhoon Lagoon during the week between Christmas and New Year's. How are the crowds? Is it as busy as wdw? Is the water heated? Thanks.

Hi Beth! Thanks for writing with the great question. We're a huge water park-loving family, so I'd give a resounding yes, go! to your question. The water parks do tend to be less busy in the winter months, however, they alternate, closing one at a time for maintenance. Given that only one park is open, it might be a bit busy, but when I've gone in the past years there is no comparison in crowd levels compared to the theme parks.

The pools are definitely heated but the outside air can be chilly, so this is the only time I recommend getting there once the sun is up and warm, as opposed to my usual recommendation of being there at park opening.
