I'm thinking of going to Mickey's Christmas Party. Are the rides open during this event? If I'm at the park earlier do I have to leave and re-enter the park with my ticket for the party?

    Hey Colleen!

It's no secret that Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) at the Magic Kingdom is my favorite special events at Walt Disney World. Since this is a specially ticketed event the park is not crowded. Therefore, the wait times for rides are quite low. I was there last year for a party in mid-December and I never saw the wait time on Space Mountain go over 20 minutes!

You will find most attractions will be open during the Party. Make sure to pick up a Guide Map when you enter the park as this will give you not only parade and show times, it will also show you special character meet & greet locations and attraction information.

A little known fact about MVMCP, as well as Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, is that you can actually enter the Magic Kingdom using your party ticket only as early as 4:00 p.m. However, if you would like to enter the park using a regular theme park ticket prior to 4:00 p.m. make sure to tell the Cast Member that you also have a ticket to MVMCP and they will give you a special wristband. Without the wristband you will be required to head back to the entrance to get the wristband before experiencing any of the attractions.

I hope this helps with your holiday planning. If you have any more questions about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or any other aspect of your stay at Walt Disney World please come back and see me.

Wising you a *MAGICAL* vacation and a pixie-dusted day!
