Hello, Susan! I know you'll have a blast watching the
Happily Ever After fireworks show in
Magic Kingdom Park this fall! I've seen it several times myself, and my son and I love singing along with the beautiful musical score that features some of my favorite Disney songs.
I'm glad you are considering the
Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing. This is the best way to see the 18 minute show, and although it's a splurge, it's worth it, especially if it's your first time seeing Happily Ever After. The Castle projections are genuinely breathtaking (you have to see it to believe it), and you'll have the best view from the Plaza Garden (or the Hub, as many Guests call it).
The Walt Disney World website recommends checking in 90 minutes prior to showtime; however, the desserts are all set up buffet style, and there are plenty of them, so there shouldn't be a problem if you arrive a little later. You'll also be given wristbands, so you can come and go as you please. From my experience, the Cast Members walk Guests over to the Hub grass about 45 minutes before the show. While it seems like a long time to wait, you'll want to make sure your family gets a good viewing spot. Luckily, the night we went wasn't overly crowded, and since no one was obstructing our view, we were able to sit for the entire show. Don't be surprised if you have tears in your eyes at the end- it's that good!
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the desserts! My Mousketeers were mesmerized by the Create Your Own Cupcake and Sundae stations. I enjoyed the chocolate dipped strawberries and macarons. I've heard they added some delicious savory options since then, too. I may have to go back so I can try the Taco Spring Rolls!
I hope this helps you plan your itinerary, Susan. Have a fantastic holiday!
