I’m taking a trip the weekend of the WDW Marathon. I made a 7:55am breakfast reservation in Magic Kingdom the day of the marathon. Will it be really difficult to make it to this ADR? Is it difficult to get a bus from POP to the Magic Kingdom for this?

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Courtney!

In my experience during runDisney race weekends, getting to Magic Kingdom Park early in the morning on race days can prove a bit challenging. While the monorail will be running at that time, Walt Disney World Bus Service often has to take a circuitous route to get around the road closures and foot traffic. While buses from Disney’s Pop Century Resort should be running at that time on the morning of the Walt Disney World Marathon, you will definitely want to give yourself well over an hour to get from your hotel to Magic Kingdom Park.

Two suggestions I would offer would be to speak to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel Lobby Concierge the night before the race to get their suggestions regarding the best time to leave the next morning. Another suggestion would be to consider taking the Disney Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft to get you and your party from Disney’s Pop Century Resort to the Transportation and Ticket Center. From there, you’ll be able to take the monorail to Magic Kingdom Park. Once again, though, I would give yourself lots of additional time to deal with road closures and alternate routes that morning.

I do hope you’re able to make your breakfast reservation,  Courtney! In my experience, the early mornings on race days are a great time to enjoy the Theme Parks, as the crowds tend to be a little lower at that time of day. In the meantime, please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you.
