I'm taking my kids, age 3 & 6, to Disneyland for the first time on my own. I'm wondering if these rides can fit 3 to a seat: Dumbo, Mr Toad, Autopia, Buzz Astro Blasters, Big Thunder, Chip n Dale Coaster & Roger Rabbit?

Hi there, Heather, and welcome back to planDisney!

Thanks for submitting your questions to us and it's so nice to see you here again! It looks like you have a festive Holiday visit to the Disneyland Resort ahead of you. I bet your kids are super excited to see all the decorations during this most beautiful time of year at the Resort and it would be my pleasure to help you.

First of all, I wanted to direct you to the Height Requirements for Attractions. You can use this page to determine which attractions will be appropriate for your little ones. When riding with young children, Cast Members will ask that your kids board first. Let me go over the specific rides you mentioned.

    • Dumbo the Flying Elephant: a great ride for all ages and no height requirement. You can definitely fit three to a seat as you and your kids soar above Fantasyland.
    • Mr. Toad's Wild Ride: no height requirement and you are able to sit three to a seat. My son loves this attraction and he cackled in glee when we first rode it because he thought he was taking me on such a wild ride!
    • Autopia: must be 32" or taller. If your kids meet this height, you may sit three to a seat. You might have to press on the accelerator for them, though.
    • Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters: no height requirement. You may sit three to a seat but there are only two blasters per ride vehicle. You'll probably need to assist your littlest one with firing the laser but it'll be great fun and you even get a picture at the end.
    • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: this is the most intense ride on this list and is therefore a 40" height requirement, but boy is it fun! They don't call it the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness for nothing! The seats are designed for two adults, so just ask the Cast Member if it's possible to seat all of you together but there should be enough room.
    • Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster: 35" height requirement. This might be the tightest fit and it specifically states that each acorn fits 2 passengers (an adult and a child). You'll have to check with the Cast Member but my child was brave enough to be seated all by himself for this ride and was proud to call it his "first alone coaster."
    • Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin: no height requirement and it'll be your choice to spin or not. You should be able to fit all of you in one vehicle.

I hope that helps, Heather. My kids are five years apart in age and I remember taking them to the Parks when they were younger and being able to ride with them most of the time. If you need anything further, please write back again. We're always happy to help!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
