Hi! I'm taking my friends to Disneyland for the first time, when would I know if Fantasmic has shows on Aug 31st or Sept 1? Also, is the fireworks show the Halloween-themed one completely by then, or do they show the regular one sometimes?

Hello, Rhodelle, and welcome to planDisney! I can see we’re cut from the same cloth. I love the nighttime spectaculars at Disneyland! Let’s take a look at the calendar and see what we can figure out.

Disneyland Resort publishes its entertainment schedule about six weeks ahead. That means that July 20th would be the earliest you’ll be able to know for sure. Another thing to consider is the day of the week. August 31st and September 1st are weekdays, and Fantasmic! usually plays throughout the week during the Spring and Summer, but goes back to weekends around Labour Day, which is September 7th. All that to say, I hope Disneyland is still running Fantasmic during the week at the time of your visit. July 20th will be the soonest you can know for sure.

Halloween Screams is the nighttime spectacular that launches at the same time as Halloween Time at Disneyland on August 21st. Wondrous Journeys will pause for the spookiest of holidays and most likely return when Halloween Time concludes.

Rhodelle, I know there is a lot up in the air until the magical date when the entertainment schedule is released. Until then, let’s get pumped about all the new and exciting attractions you’ll get to experience when you arrive!

Galaxy’s Edge is very busy these days. On top of the timeline expansion that just took place to include your favorite characters from episodes IV, V, and VI, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run just launched a new mission. I got to fly the new mission last weekend, and it was amazing! Mando guides you through a daring chase, while Hondo Ohnaka still tries to turn a profit. There are new controls and a variety of mission options. It's out of this world!

You’ll also be here in time to take flight on the new Soarin’ Across America. The new sights and sounds are here to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary! Come celebrate with your southerly neighbors! There is even an update from your favorite Chief Flight Attendant!

Rhodelle, you’re in for a treat no matter what, and I’m not just talking about the churros. I hope you have the most magical trip ever, and that all the shows you’re hoping for are playing! If you have more planning questions, keep ‘em coming. We’ll see you soon at planDisney!

I hope you have a magical day.
