I'm taking the Disney Cruise to the Western Carribean next November. Do I need a passport, or is a birth certificate with a raised seal enough? Are there any other documents needed? Thank you!

    Ahoy Bill!
It is wonderful to hear from you again, and I'm excited you are looking forward to another wondrous sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line!
Passport requirements can be confusing so I'm glad you stopped by with your question.  Currently, passports are not needed for closed loop cruises (cruises departing and returning to the same U.S. port).  A certified birth certificate along with a government issued photo ID for those over 18 will be accepted. But, with that being said, Disney Cruise Line does recommend passports just in case you will need to fly home from one of the Caribbean ports of call for an unexpected emergency.  Air travel from the foreign ports of call do require a valid passport so my advice is to read over the passport information at travel.st.gov so you can make the best decision for your crew!  It is unlikely that you will encounter an emergency, but it is best to be informed.
Thank you for continuing to use the Moms Panel, Bill!  If you have any additional questions, please let me know!
    Have a magical day!
