I'm going to surprise my husband and son with a private VIP in July 2021. I'm curious what a standard tip would be on these kind of tours?

Hi there, Kim! Welcome to planDisney.

It sounds like you are planning the vacation of a lifetime for your husband and son. Once you reveal your surprise, they are going to be thinking so many happy thoughts that they may just fly right off to Neverland.

Kim, while I have only been lucky enough to take a private VIP tour in my dreams, I have spoken to a few friends and done a little research, and here is what I found out. You should tip the amount that you feel comfortable with based on the service you received. Tips for the VIP tour guides generally average 10%-20% of the total tour cost, with 15% seeming to be the average.

Kim, in addition to the private VIP tour, did you know that there are several small group tours that you can book? These range from the Ultimate Day of Thrills VIP Tour to the Ultimate Disney Classics VIP Tour to Backstage Magic, where you will get to peek behind the curtain. While not as customizable, these tours still offer the VIP experience at a fraction of the cost.

I hope that this gave you a little guidance Kim. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help as you plan your fabulous family vacation!

    Wishing you many magical memories!
