I'm sure this question sounds ridiculous, but is a park ticket required for character dining that is located inside parks? My mother would like to dine with us for the character meals, but won't want to take in the park. So should I reserve a seat for her?

    Hi Kathy,

That's not a ridiculous question at all, many guests have asked us that.

The answer is that yes, any time you enter a theme park, you need to use park admission ticket. This applies even if you just want to go into the park to dine or shop.

You should know that there are several character meals located in the resorts rather than the parks. Your mother is welcome to join you there without paying any sort of admission fee (other than the cost of the meal).  The resort character meals are all located at hotels that are quite close to the parks, making it convenient to step away from the park for just a bit to dine.

    Your options include:

    - Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary (characters at breakfast and dinner)
    - Ohana at the Polynesian (characters at breakfast)
    - 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian (characters at breakfast and dinner)
    - Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club (characters at breakfast)

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do help.
